The Project Storyboard

Getting the Right Tasks Done

SWOT Analysis is a classic technique for evaluating situations and assessing the impacts of actions. However, nearly all SWOT Analysis is textual. I recently saw a blog posting on Fred Wilson's Blog (http://www.avc.com/a_vc/2008/10/a-swot-analysis.html). The article was posted by Krassen Dimitrov with the caption: "A SWOT Analysis on America." Dimitrov's SWOT Analysis certainly needs much debate and validation. However, I've decided to translate the contents into a visual format not only to facilitate discussion but also to provide an example of using the Project Storyboard for Visual SWOT Analysis. A template for visual SWOT Analysis is also provided so that you can visually carry out SWOT Analysis for any situation, subject, or action.

Do you have any situation that is critical and you'd like to determine viability of the situation or actions? Why not use the template of the SWOT-Storyboard? Listing and brainstorming ideas on the SWOT-Storyboard is not only fun but also you may come to a better decision about the situation in less time.

Best,
Rod King, Ph.D.

I like the look of the SWOT storyboard and can imagine each sell going deeper, with more threats, weaknesses etc.
